Jake Paul is just days away from stepping into the ring with Anthony Joshua, and now one of his heavyweight sparring partners has given insight into the camp.

Few people give Paul much chance given the facts – he is naturally a shorter, smaller man and has had just 13 fights in total, whereas Joshua is over 6ft 6 and has had 32 professional contests in all.

He is a former two-time unified champion who has knocked out a long list of stars, from Dillian Whyte to Kubrat Pulev and Wladimir Klitschko.

Paul has been sparring plenty of big names in preparation, and now Cassius Chaney has told The Sun Sport what camp has been like.

“Honestly, the first day, I wasn’t sure on how hard they wanted me to go. I was really too sure what they wanted me to do but the spend day they said go after him, do what you want. He’s more athletic than we’ve been able to see cause of the guys he’s fought. He works hard.”

“Besides myself, he’s brought in Frank Sanchez, Lawrence Okolie, Jared Anderson, he’s been getting beat up on. Guys have been going at him. That alone has been giving him some confidence cause he’s been going through the process of really getting ready for a guy like ‘AJ.'”

If Paul were to get a win, it would be one of the biggest upsets the sport has ever seen. Most expect Joshua to get a straightforward knockout inside the first round or two and go on to fight Tyson Fury in 2026.
