An elite American prospect who has been tipped for the top has named his heavyweight hit list and has included two Brits in Moses Itauma and Anthony Joshua.

There is plenty of change in the heavyweight division right now with current heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk and former long-time rulers like Joshua and Tyson Fury all approaching 40 and the end of their careers, while young stars like Itauma continue to rise up through the ranks.

Deontay Wilder was the last American heavyweight ruler but legendary fighter-turned-promoter Oscar De La Hoya has now tipped emerging prospect Joshua Edwards for big things.

Speaking to DAZN, Golden Boy chief De La Hoya heaped praise on Edwards, who he tips to bring the heavyweight title back to the US.

“I believe I have the golden nugget here in the US in Joshua Edwards who could make some noise and create some big heavyweight fights here in the US against the great fighters in Europe.”

Edwards himself was then asked to name three men he wanted to face.

“Moses Itauma, People keep comparing me with him. Oleksandr Usyk. No time soon, but I want to get in the ring with Usyk, he got real good timing. And then I got to say Anthony Joshua.”

Edwards is 25 and is known as ‘The Rocket.’ He has been boxing since the age of six and turned professional earlier this year. He fights out of an orthodox stance and stands 6 foot 3 inches tall.

He has great hand speed, defence and a high IQ and got his latest win this past weekend when he stopped Zeno Vooris, extending his unbeaten record to 5-0 with 5 knockouts.
