Robert “The Nordic Nightmare” Helenius will fight at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki on 17 December. The Paf-sponsored Åland boxer will face Argentina’s highest ranked professional heavyweight Gonzalo Omar “El Patón” Basile. El Patón has 79 matches under his belt and is in good form recently with five consecutive wins among his 68 victories.
“He is certainly good, he is Argentina’s number one. Though he may not be the toughest opponent for me, he will probably put up a good fight,” says a rather confident Helenius.
“He won’t be nervous before the match in any case,” adds Helenius’s manager Markus Sundman.
Finland’s very best boxers on the bill
The boxing gala in Helsinki will be one of the largest of its kind in a long time in Finland. Finland’s reigning world champion Eva Wahlström and reigning European lightweight champion Edis Tatli will also fight at the same event. To complete the impressive line-up Niklas Räsänen will also challenge for the European super middleweight title.
