A hall of fame inductee has questioned the punching power of Canelo Alvarez ahead of his showdown with Terence Crawford.

The pound-for-pound stars are just over four weeks away from their highly anticipated ‘mega-fight’ which takes place on Saturday September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Canelo is set defend his undisputed super-middleweight titles in what is his second reign as champion, after he defeated Cuba’s William Scull back in May to add the IBF 168lb crown to his collection.

As for ‘Bud’ Crawford, the 37-year-old from Omaha will make his super-middleweight debut when he locks horns with the Mexican icon next month, having spent almost the entirety of his accomplished professional career campaigning at welterweight.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, retired two-weight world champion Timothy Bradley shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash between the modern greats, as he questions what punching power the 35-year-old Mexican has left.

“If Canelo couldn’t knock out [Jermell] Charlo, you really think he’s gonna knock out Crawford?”

“I would pick Terence Crawford to beat a Canelo Alvarez, even at 168, everybody can call me crazy and whatever you wanna say, I get it, y’all didn’t believe me when I told you about [Errol] Spence, but trust me, Crawford will figure out a way.

“I know a secret y’all don’t know and I ain’t gonna tell you why I would pick Terence Crawford but it’s part of the secret is the reason why I’m picking him to win the fight.”

As he prepares for undoubtedly the toughest test of his career, Crawford could write his name into the boxing history books once again should he be victorious over Canelo by becoming the first male fighter of all time to win an undisputed championship in three weight classes, having already achieved this feat at super-lightweight and welterweight.
