Evander Holyfield Names The Current KO Artist Who Is ‘More Dangerous Than Mike Tyson’

Evander Holyfield was involved with two epic heavyweight clashes with Mike Tyson during the 1990s.

The first of which came at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in November 1996, with former undisputed heavyweight champion Holyfield claiming an 11th round stoppage victory to win the WBA belt and claim world honours once again.

An immediate rematch then took place at the same venue seven months later in what was the infamous ‘bite fight’ – with ‘Iron Mike’ biting the ear of Holyfield in the third round to get disqualified.

During the peak of his career, Tyson was a formidable puncher who knocked out nearly everyone that he faced, earning him the moniker of ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet.’

Despite that success, Holyfield believes there is now one current fighter that he places above Tyson, telling FightHype that he believes Gervonta Davis is even more dangerous.

“Davis is a very good fighter. He’s a very skilled fighter, he kind of reminds me of Pernell Whittaker. Pernell Whittaker was a skilful boxer. ‘Tank’ is a skilful boxer, and a hard puncher – he’s got both of ’em! That would make him even more dangerous than Mike Tyson.”

Davis is the current WBA lightweight champion, and holds an unbeaten record of 30 wins and 1 draw, with 28 of his victories coming by knockout.

That draw came last time out against Lamont Roach, and while many fans thought a rematch would come next, ‘Tank’ will instead be involved in a controversial exhibition match-up against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Miami on Friday 14 November.
