Evander Holyfield Reveals His ‘Suspicions’ Over Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Fight

Evander Holyfield has spoken further in the aftermath of Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul.

Tyson fought Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in November, in the first ever boxing event broadcast that was live on Netflix.

It saw 58-year-old Tyson returning to the professional ring for the first time in nearly two decades, with his last fight taking place way back in 2005.

In the build-up, ‘Iron Mike’ shared a number of training videos that appeared to show his trademark speed and power, leading some onlookers to believe that the Tyson of old may be present in the fight.

It wasn’t to be though, as he struggled to compete with Paul, as ‘The Problem Child’ ran out a dominant unanimous decision winner after eight two minutes rounds.

There have been suggestions from some fans that the fight may have been scripted, but the majority of boxing figures that have weighed in on the contest have dismissed those claims.

That is until now, as boxing legend and former Tyson opponent Holyfield has told The Big Podcast With Shaq that he does believe there was something peculiar going on with the bout.

“It looked suspicious. He didn’t look stable.”

Holyfield was then asked if he was ever approached about taking a scripted fight during his career.

“No, I don’t think I could do that.”

Along with Holyfield, fellow legend Roy Jones Jrhas also given his view on the fight.
