Filip Hrgovic takes on Moses Itauma later this summer and has predicted exactly how and when he thinks the fight will end.

Hrgovic is now 34 years old and has proven to be a high-level operator across his career. After ending his amateur career with a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics, he has since had 21 professional fights with 15 of them victories by knockout and just one loss.

That came in June 2024 when he was stopped by Daniel Dubois for the IBF interim heavyweight title, though he has always maintained he was not in the right headspace going into that contest.

He has got back to wining ways wince then and looked good defeating Joe Joyce, David Adeleye and most recently Dave Allen back in May.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Hrgovic said he was confident he will get the win despite the credentials of his opponent.

“Hrgovic in seven, that’s what I think of Moses Itauma. It’s a great fight for myself with a young, upcoming lion, who’s impressed everyone except myself. Maybe he’s the next great heavyweight but I don’t believe it until I see his courage, his chin, his will, his endurance.”

Itauma is just 21 but has already shown he has the hand speed, boxing IQ and punching power to trouble anyone. He has knocked out 12 of his 14 opponents so far, with the vast majority of them coming in the first round.

He became the first man to stop former Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte opponent Jermaine Franklin last time out and is now focused on working towards a world title.

The young Briton is highly ranked by the WBO and the WBC so a win against Hrgovic would be a big step in the right direction.
