'I'd put Daniel Dubois against any heavyweight bar Tyson Fury,' insists Frank Warren

Frank Warren tells us he fancies his man, Daniel Dubois, to get past Joe Joyce and would put him in against any heavyweight in the world right now, except Tyson Fury

Frank Warren is in an enviable position. With several big shows scheduled before the end of 2020, the Hall of Famer is the exclusive UK promoter for consensus No. 1 heavyweight Tyson Fury, the WBC champion who returns on December 5, and the main man behind Daniel Dubois, the undefeated British and Commonwealth king who vies with Joe Joyce on November 28.

Ahead of those two huge shows, and another BT Sport card this Friday, topped by the highly anticipated rematch between Mark Heffron and Denzel Bentley for the vacant British middleweight title, Warren spoke at length to our YouTube channel. The first part focused on the initial two of those bills, and Dubois in particular, in whom Warren clearly has ample faith.

Asked if he would pit the Dubois vs Joyce winner versus any heavyweight except Fury, the veteran promoter responded, "Yeah. Yeah, I would. What have you got to lose? We’ve got everything to gain. With Daniel, I know he’s got the power, I know he can box - he’s got a great jab - and would I fancy him against Dillian Whyte, or against [Dereck] Chisora? In a heartbeat.

"He’s got a tough fight. He’s got to get past a really good, undefeated heavyweight and Joe fancied the fight big time. I think Daniel will be the guy."
