The showdown between Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley is just a few hours away.
Parker and Wardley collide at The O2 Arena in London, in a fight that is set to have big implications for the future of the heavyweight division.
The winner could land themselves a shot against current undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk next year, as they will be the mandatory for the Ukrainian’s WBO belt.
Parker heads into the bout in fine form, having defeated Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang, and most recently Martin Bakole in his last three contests.
Wardley is unbeaten in his career, with 18 of his 19 victories coming by knockout, the latest of those back in June when whilst clearly down on the cards, he stopped Justis Huni in the 10th round of their clash at Portman Road in Ipswich.
Another undefeated heavyweight on the rise is fellow Brit Moses Itauma, who will be keeping a keen eye on this evening’s Parker vs. Wardley battle.
Itauma has now given his final prediction for the fight in a post shared by Queensberry Promotions, with the 20-year-old backing the upset when asked who he believes will come out on top.
“Fabio.”
Victory for Wardley would certainly mix things up at the top of the heavyweight division, with the likes of Tyson Fury and Agit Kabayel also vying for fights against current undisputed champion Usyk.
As for Itauma, the unbeaten prospect looked set to return in December following his destructive knockout win over Dillian Whyte in August, but it appears that he now may not be back in the ring until February.
