Moses Itauma has been told a big punching heavyweight is open to a fight with him this year.
Itauma has been hailed as the future of the division by many in the sport. At 21-years-old, he already has 13 wins on his record, 11 of them by stoppage, but more impressively than that, nine have come inside the first two rounds.
Last time out in August, he was expected to face a tougher test in former world title challenger Dillian Whyte, but once again Itauma showed his potential by stopping ‘The Bodysnatcher’ inside the opening two minutes.
He was due to fight American Jermaine Franklin this month, but suffered an injury late in the day and will now fight him in March.
Speaking to Boxing Social, Martin Bakole’s manager Billie Nelson said his man is open to a fight.
“We want to fight Moses, no problem. In August last year his name was mentioned but nobody ever came to us with a proposal.
“Then, when he fought Whyte, we were asked if he wanted to fight Martin, we said aye; they made an offer, we countered it and then they never came back to us.”
Bakole was a top-rated heavyweight himself, having beaten Jared Anderson and Carlos Takam, but he then came unstuck inside two rounds to Joseph Parker back in February last year, albeit after taking the fight at short notice.
He has since drawn with Efe Ajagba in May 2025 and on his day, presents a real problem for anyone, given his size and punching power.
