A former trainer of Jake Paul has summed up the chances of ‘The Problem Child’ pulling off an upset victory over Anthony Joshua.

Joshua and Paul are all set to do battle in an eight-round sanctioned heavyweight bout at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday night, live and exclusive around the world on Netflix.

It will be Joshua’s first ring appearance since he suffered a fifth round stoppage defeat to former IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in September 2024.

‘The Problem Child’ has drafted in a number of world-ranked heavyweights to help him prepare for his showdown with ‘AJ’, including Lawrence Okolie, Frank Sanchez and Jared Anderson.

One man who has experience in training Paul in the past is former world cruiserweight title challenger BJ Flores, who worked alongside ‘The Problem Child’ for two years during the earlier stages of his career.

In a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, Flores refused to rule out a victory for Paul as he claims ‘anyone can win’ in a bold claim.

“I can’t guarantee who’s going to win. It’s a heavyweight fight now. Anthony Joshua is far more experienced. He’s fought way better opposition. He’s got a way better resume, but you still got to put the gloves on, lace the boots up, and go out there and fight. So, it’ll anybody can win on a certain night,”

Whilst he is faced with what is undoubtedly the toughest test of his career to date, Paul is certain that he has what it takes to defeat Joshua and pull of what could well be the biggest upset in boxing history.
