Jake Paul is fresh from his victory over boxing legend Mike Tyson.
The controversial match-up took place in November and saw 58-year-old Tyson back in a professional ring for the first time in over two decades.
Unfortunately, ‘Iron Mike’ was a shadow of his former self, struggling to cope with his much younger opponent as Paul claimed a one-sided unanimous decision victory after eight two-minute rounds.
Fans have now began to speculate about who ‘The Problem Child’ will take on next, with a number of world champions calling him out.
One fight that has been rumoured for a number of years is a showdown with fellow Youtuber-turned-boxer KSI, but it seems that fight has now been ruled out for good.
In a social media post by Paul’s promoter Most Valuable Promotions, they stated that their fighter is no longer an ‘influencer boxer’ – suggesting he will only face professional boxers from now on.
“Flashback Friday to when Jake Paul was an influencer boxer. 2 fights, 2-0, 2KOs. The best there was, is and ever will be.
“Jake is RETIRED from that sport. They need him, he doesn’t need them… hence why they said his name 400 times this past week.”
KSI is founder of crossover boxing outfit Misfits Boxing, with their latest event taking place last month and saw YouTuber AnEsonGib win in the main event. Paul beat Gib back in 2020, with that bout referred to in the social media post from MVP.
With the pair’s combined followings, there’s little doubt that Paul vs KSI would be a mega fight for the right audience and potentially the biggest on offer for Paul, even when compared to the likes of a bout with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez that he keeps chasing.
KSI is still very much in the realms of the crossover scene, his loss to Tommy Fury being the only contest of his which can be considered legitimate in the traditional sense.
There is also a big weight discrepancy between the pair, with the Brit maxing out at 185 pounds whereas Paul weighed 227 against Tyson.
Another man that has commented on Paul is boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, who has revealed whether he would come out of retirement to face ‘The Problem Child.’
