YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul will face former heavyweight champion and boxing icon Mike Tyson later this year.

The event will be broadcast on Netflix and will be the first live boxing fight to be shown on the streaming giant, with many viewing it as a test for further live sporting events.

In a big change for Paul, the fight won’t be on PPV but will be available to all Netflix subscribers as part of their standard subscription, with many pundits predicting it could break all boxing records for live viewership.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the clash the 27-year-old revealed that former-foe, and the only man to beat Paul, Tommy Fury, had turned down the Netflix offer in a move he described as ‘the dumbest thing a boxer in history has done’, whilst also taking a dig at the Brit’s recent break up from his long-term girlfriend.

“I don’t want to dive into someone’s personal life like that but I hope they’re figuring it out and they figure it out with the kids and everything but I’m still going to beat his ass as a single father.

He definitely continues to devalue himself over time, saying no to the Netflix opportunity was probably the dumbest thing a boxer in history has done. Like you literally turned down the biggest platform and now he’s got caught cheating and got divorced and now he is a single father.”

Paul vs Tyson takes place on November 15 at the AT&T Arena in Texas.
