It didn’t take Jake Paul long to answer the challenge of Gervonta Davis.
A number of huge names within boxing have recently called out Paul following his victory over boxing legend Mike Tyson in November.
It was a difficult watch at times due to Tyson now being 58-years-old, and that has led to the likes of Artur Beterbiev and Daniel Dubois calling out ‘The Problem Child’ in order to defend the honour of Tyson.
‘Tank’ became the latest world champion to reveal he would be open to a fight against Paul, despite the fact there is currently nearly 100lbs separating the two men.
Paul has now responded to Davis on social media, needing just three words to answer the request, likely referencing the huge gulf in weight.
“You know better.”
‘The Problem Child’ then explained further, suggesting that a fight doesn’t interest him now, but doesn’t rule it out in the future.
“Floyd’s little son calling me out?…come on little Tank, you know better. I saw you pretend like you didn’t know who Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor are… do better and maybe one day I give you a platform to shine again after that budget basic press conference you just had.”
Davis has been speaking this week at the launch press conferences for his WBA lightweight title defence against Lamont Roach, where the topic of Paul was brought up.
‘Tank’ revealed during those press conferences that he plans to retire at the end of 2025, adding to the reasons why a fight against ‘The Problem Child’ would be highly unlikely.
Instead, fans thought Paul may continue in his quest to secure a showdown with Canelo Alvarez but now the YouTuber-turned-boxer appears to have made a U-turn on those plans.
