Jake Paul has been talking about his experiences in the ring with Anthony Joshua.
This was a fight that got the whole world talking for good or bad. Few expected Joshua’s first time back in the ring after more than a year off to be against the movie pro Paul, whose previous opponents had all been washed-up fighters, an almost 60-year-old Mike Tyson and crossover MMA stars with little real boxing experience.
Joshua is taller, more powerful, and more experienced, and he weighed more than Paul, so many expected it to be an early and easy night for the former two-time unified ruler.
However, Paul got on his bike early and largely looked to stay away from Joshua, but that only lasted until the sixth round when he was caught up with and drilled with a solid right hand that broke his jaw in multiple places.
Speaking to IMPAULSIVE, Paul admitted what it was like to be in the ring with a former heavyweight champion.
“I won two rounds, then I got dropped. I was doing good, I just think my cardio, the mental pressure of the big guy, and sparring the big people is different to the 10oz gloves. I was feeling it a lot more. But it was a great experience, I learnt a lot in there.”
Paul is now recovering with his jaw screwed shut and liquid food only, while Joshua is looking ahead to 2026, with many hoping he will finally arrange a long awaited show down with Tyson Fury.
