Jake Paul makes his return to the ring at the end of this month.
The Youtuber-turned-boxer clashes with former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on Saturday June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Paul’s last outing came against the now retired heavyweight legend Mike Tyson, outpointing the 58-year-old over eight rounds after their controversial showdown at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The 28-year-old from Cleveland has won all but one of his professional bouts since his debut back in 2020, suffering the only defeat of his career to Tommy Fury who defeated the American via split decision after their competitive bout in Diriyah two years ago.
‘The Problem Child’ has been nothing short of opinionated since he transitioned into the sport half a decade ago, with a number of his comments and claims dividing the boxing community including current and ex-fighters.
In a feature with betr, Paul was tasked with revealing the ten most overrated athletes on the planet in his opinion, going on to name several fellow fighters in his list.
“These are all facts… Ryan Garcia, Canelo Alvarez overrated, Anthony Joshua overrated.”
Paul – who will do himself no favours amongst boxing fans for this opinion – has been linked with fights with all three of those men over the years, but for now his current goal appears to be attempting to become world champion in the cruiserweight ranks.
He could move one step closer to securing himself a dream world title shot should he be victorious over Chavez later this month, but the 28-year-old must defeat the Mexican in impressive fashion if he is to move towards achieving his career-long goal.
‘The Problem Child’ is also said to be in negotiations for a shock catchweight bout against reigning WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis, with reports that the pair could clash before the end of 2025.
