Mike Tyson returns to the boxing ring this month to face content creator turned fighter, Jake Paul.

Both men are deep into training camps for the controversial bout, which will see the former undisputed heavyweight champion – 30 years older than his opponent – compete for the first time since his retirement in 2005, minus an exhibition with Roy Jones Jr in 2020.

Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans, heavyweight Deandre Savage spoke on his experiences in Paul’s training camp.

“I think a lot of people is sleeping on Jake Paul. I was sleeping on him at first until I actually been around him. Jake works real hard. He’s taking it serious for real. It was good sparring. He’s still a little green but Jake’s got a good jab, a good right hand too. And he’s fast. He’s working on his ins and outs. Man. Jake’s good. I like him.”

On a video posted by Paul showing him knock a sparring partner down, the 6-0 fighter from Flint, Michigan confirmed it was him on the receiving end of the shot.

“Yeah that was me. Jake caught me with a good right hand, I just went down to my knee and got back up. And that was it.”

As for a prediction, Savage said he wants ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson to win but can’t see it happening. He also claimed that the fight may not be as traditional as some have worried about.

“Mike is Mike but it’s the age difference. I hope Mike wins, I do hope Mike wins, but I don’t think so. I think the age. I think it’s a big payday. I don’t think it’s gonna be the fight everybody’s expecting. I don’t know. We’ve gotta see what happens. I hope it goes to the points. It’s still boxing but it’s like a different type of show, it’s entertainment.”

Finally, Savage thanked the young fighter for providing him with the opportunity to buy his first home.

“I also want to thank Jake and his team and his coach, cause from me being in that camp I was able to purchase my first home. I want to thank Jake Paul for that.

Paul vs Tyson takes place on November 15 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas. It will be streamed live on Netflix.
