James Toney has strong feelings on Jake Paul‘s upcoming bout against Gervonta Davis.

Paul, who weighed in at 199.5lbs for his last fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, will face ‘Tank’ Davis – the current 135lbs WBA World Champion – in Miami, Florida on November 14 in an exhibition.

Davis has received criticism from some of his peers in the boxing world due to going this route rather than defending his title or chasing meaningful fights.

Speaking to Mill City Boxing, three-weight world champion Toney criticised the match-up, stating that Davis would knock Paul out if it was a real fight, which he does not believe it will be.

“When I saw that I said, okay, I’ll turn the channel. I’m not even gonna waste my time with this s**t, man. I’m not about the bulls**t life. I’m about real s**t. Matter fact, I don’t even want to talk about. It’s not even in my vocabulary. I love Tank. Tank needs to get his s**t together man. Get real.

“I know for a fact he’s on a string, a puppet. Because you know what Jake Paul gonna do… If he don’t go the distance, you won’t get paid. If you knock me out, you won’t get paid. Cause Tank gonna knock him out. Jake Paul can’t fight. I don’t care how big he is. He can’t spell fight. It is what it is, I’m done talking about this s**t, man.”

Paul and his promotional company, MVP, have condemned those who call his fights scripted or fixed, threatening legal action in some cases. The event’s official rules will see both men wearing 12oz gloves during ten, three minute rounds and will be scored like a professional bout, with three ringside judges. The weight limit is set for 195lbs.
