The fallout continues following Mike Tyson‘s defeat to Jake Paul.
The controversial match-up finally took place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday, and saw Paul claim a one-sided points win over Tyson after eight two-minute rounds of action.
It was a difficult watch at times, with ‘Iron Mike’ a shell of his former self due to now being 58-years-old and not having competed professionally since way back in 2005.
Attention has already turned to who Paul could potentially take on next following the fight, with boxing legend James Toney now offering his thoughts.
Ahead of the bout, Toney felt that Tyson would pull off the victory in emphatic style, believing that it would be over via knockout within 30 seconds.
Toney also revealed that he wants to take on the winner, and he was tagged in a post on social media following the fight, reminding him of his comments.
The Hall of Fame inductee has now responded on Instagram, re-sharing a post claiming Tyson had let boxing down.
“Mike Tyson you let the culture down for a bag… you sold out. James Toney you said you got the winner- beat up Jake Paul.”
‘Lights Out’ captioned it by claiming that Youtuber-turned-boxer Paul wouldn’t want to face him.
“They really don’t want this. I don’t follow rules.”
Toney competed from middleweight all the way up to heavyweight, winning multiple world titles in several weight classes along the way, but he hasn’t been in the ring since a knockout victory over Mike Sheppard back in 2017.
A fight between Paul and Toney looks an extremely unlikely possibility, and instead ‘The Problem Child’ has been offered a showdown against a reigning world champion who is regarded as one of the pound-for-pound best fighters in the world.
