Jamie McDonnell will defend his WBA bantamweight title against Naoya ‘Monster Inoue at the Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan on May 25.
Facing the unbeaten 24 year-old in his own country will be a tough assignment for the British fighter but trainer Dave Coldwell is confident of victory.
McDonnell’s trainer Dave Coldwell tweeted this week:“@JamieMcDonnell travels to Japan to take on @Ringmagazine P4P No8 Inoue to defend his belt. Huge fight. Yes it’s a tough ask, but we’re not going for the culture! A win in Tokyo & finally Jamie becomes the star his achievements deserve,”
