Jared Anderson suffered his first professional loss at the start of August to Martin Bakole.

Until then, Toledo heavyweight ‘Big Baby’ had been on a great run and was building up momentum as America’s main heavyweight hopeful.

The unbeaten Anderson had stopped all but two of his opponents by knockout, with just former world champion Charles Martin and Ryad Merhy the only men to take him the full 12 rounds.

As such, hopes were high for him to continue to work towards a world title until he stepped into the ring with towering rival Bakole.

The Congolese fighter is self declared as ‘one of the most avoided in boxing’ and has often boasted about sparring sessions against other top fighters.

Pre-fight many questioned the matchmaking for the 24-year-old and he found out the hard way with Bakole putting him down three times on the way to a fifth-round knockout.

Anderson has now taken to social media to speak about the loss for the first time, questioning his tactics of standing and trading with a heavyweight like Bakole.

“Wtf Was I Thinking Tryna Bang It Out With That Ass Mf”

Anderson will now hope to rebuild and work his way back to the top. Bakole meanwhile seemingly has a number of options after his win – he would like to avenge the only loss he has against Michael Hunter, but is also being linked with the lies of Zhilei Zhang.
