Tyson Fury soon returns to heavyweight action against Arslanbek Makhmudov, and Jarrell Miller has a warning for the former champion.
Fury has not fought since 2024 when he lost two consecutive fights to Oleksandr Usyk. They are the only defeats in his career, but it meant he lost his WBC title and failed to become undisputed champion, which he had long been chasing.
Instead, Fury retired for the spot and took a whole year out before getting back in the gym in January. Since then, he has locked in a fight with tall Russian puncher Makmuhdov, who has had a mixed career to date.
The 36-year-old has fought a total of 23 times and won 21 of those fights, 19 by knockout. However, he has also been stopped twice himself – once by Agit Kabayel by a body shot in 2023, and once by Guido Vianello in 2024.
Last time out, he secured a unanimous points win over popular Brit Dave Allen, but had to survive some tricky moments early in the fight.
Speaking to New Betting Offers, Miller gave his prediction for how he sees their April contest going.
“Anybody who’s a little taller for Tyson gives him a little problem, if you watch history. The thing is, will Makmudov’s chin hold up, and will he be a little aggressive?
“If Makmudov can be aggressive, use a little head movement, and come forward, I think he can give Tyson a lot of problems. I think Tyson still pulls through, but I don’t think it’s an easy fight like everybody thinks it is. The guy can crack and he does have some meanness in him, let’s see how long he stands up.”
Should Fury win, there will be yet more clamour for him to finally face off with long time British rival Anthony Joshua, though he has also been offered a world title shot by Fabio Wardley.
