After picking up the latest win of his career last weekend, America’s Jarrell Miller is already making plans for the future.

The 37-year-old from Brooklyn made his long-awaited return to action on Saturday night as he defeated Kingsley Ibeh via split decision at the conclusion of their showdown at Madison Square Garden in New York City, but the biggest talking point from the fight came when his toupee was knocked off during the action.

Miller has found himself at the centre of some more serious controversies during his career, but the hard-hitting American appears to remain set on pushing towards a shot at the world heavyweight championship before the end of his career.

He had actually secured himself a shot at former unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua back in 2019 but their bout was eventually cancelled after ‘Big Baby’ failed a drugs test in the build-up.

Speaking on The Breakfast Club, Miller revealed that he would like to get one more ‘tune up fight’ under his belt before he can hopefully challenge WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley later this year.

“So they have a couple of big things on the table. We just got to kind of map it out and see where we go strategically from there but a title shot definitely by the summer time we’re looking at right now.

“Actually the guy that did caught the wig eventually was Wardley a bald guy in the audience. He was supposed to fight back in July in England and that fight got cancelled and he actually became the champ now because Usyk stepped down and gave his title back.

“So he’s talking about coming to America so maybe a title shot with him in America. But I’d like to get one more tune up, get the rust off, you know, get the oils greasing the joints a little bit.”

Miller was actually pencilled in to face Wardley in Ipswich last July but the American pulled out of the fight after he sustained a shoulder injury during his training camp.

Wardley, whose last victory came against Joseph Parker, has since been elevated to WBO heavyweight champion after former title holder Oleksandr Usyk opted to vacate the belt.
