Jarrell Miller has been on the receiving end of Daniel Dubois‘ punches and has now spoken of his power ahead of Joseph Parker experiencing the same.
‘Big Baby’ faced Dubois in December 2023 and, for much of the early stages, was the aggressor. He was constantly walking forward and landing clumping shots on the Brit.
However, the Brit weathered the storm and got a foothold in the mid-rounds. Growing in confidence, he was the one landing more effective punches. That paid off just with just seconds of the 10th and final round to go, with Dubois trapping Miller in the corner and forcing the referee to step in and save the American from any more unnecessary punishment.
After that, ‘DDD’ went on to stop the highly rated Fillip Hrgovic and was elevated to full IBF champion after his win. He then defended his belt in fine fashion with a fifth-round knockout of Anthony Joshua back in September.
Speaking to BoxNation, Miller was asked about ‘DDD’s power and summed it up by saying ‘he hits hard’.
“Dubois hits hard. Not the hardest I’ve ever been in the ring with. Very stiff, good jab, good right hand. I mean he’s a good puncher, no doubt about it.”
Dubois will be hoping to display the best of his punching power against former world champion Parker on February 22. For the winner, a potential undisputed showdown awaits with unified champion Oleksandr Usyk sometime later in 2025.
