Jarrell Miller has predicted what might happen if Moses Itauma takes on Filip Hrgovic soon.
Former Olympian Hrgovic has built up some momentum following his KO loss to Daniel Dubois back in June 2024. Almost a year on, he took a unanimous points decision over Joe Joyce, then did the same against David Adeleye and last time out in May, he stopped British favourite Dave Allen inside three rounds.
The Croatian now remains the frontrunner to provide the biggest test yet for Itauama, who has long been hailed by many as the next king of the division.
He is just 21 years old but has won all 14 of his fights, 12 of them by KO, with the vast majority inside the first couple of rounds, including Dillian Whyte, while it took him six rounds to be the first man to stop Jermaine Franklin in his last contest In March.
Speaking to PlayUK, Miller thinks Hrgovic would still have too much for the young title hopeful.
“I think Hrgovic is very durable, war-proven. He’s not going to be jumping in and getting caught with dumb sh*t.
“He has a really good jab. Let’s see where Itauma really is when he fights a real top-10 contender now, because honestly, out of everybody he’s fought, they’ve kind of laid down a little bit.
“Jermaine Franklin came to bang and gave him some good rounds. I just felt like maybe it wasn’t the best version of him, but let’s see where he goes. I’ve got more of a close relationship with Hrgovic. He’s one of my homies.
“We trained in Florida and sparred plenty of times, so I’ve got to go with the homie. I’ve got to go with Hrgovic whooping Itauma’s young a*s.”
