Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois are all set to face off in front of a record-breaking 96,000 crowd at Wembley Stadium.
The bout pits the two British knockout artists together to compete for Dubois’ new IBF Heavyweight World Title. Despite holding the belt, the 27-year-old old will step through the ropes an underdog to the more experienced Joshua.
When the fight was first announced, Jarrell Miller – who was set to fight ‘AJ’ in 2019 before failing doping tests and lost to Dubois last year after a comeback – couldn’t pick the two apart to make a prediction, saying, “I feel like it’s gonna come down to nutrition and who’s gonna have the better game plan.”
In an interview with The Stomping Ground after the weigh-in, Miller now revealed that he was backing his former foe for the win.
“It’s gonna be fireworks, man. I feel like Dubois’ gonna pull it off. He has the better chin. He’s able to take a beating for the first couple of rounds, stormy weather, and he wins fights. I feel like he’s evolved now, mentally and maturity level in the boxing game. I’m pulling for him.”
I think the first two rounds they’re gonna try and feel each other out with the jab. I think Joshua’s gonna try some slick moves, counter right hands, hold his head down, throw that right uppercut. If Dubois gets clipped he’s gonna box, move round a little bit. I feel like at the end of seven, eight rounds he’ll pick the pace up and come forward.”
Miller reinforced his prediction in an interview with Fight Hub TV, saying that ‘AJ’ will look good in the beginning but he’s backing Dubois to, after showing his ‘durability to take a beating’, come on strong after the fifth.
Miller has eyes on both the winner and the loser come Saturday night, desperate to finally land the Joshua fight but also looking to ‘get his licks back’ from Dubois.
