Jarrell Miller only sees the upcoming bout between Jared Anderson and Martin Bakole going one way.
The fight announcement took many people by surprise as it represents a big challenge for both men. Bakole has always struggled to lure the biggest names into the ring with him because he is a big problem for anyone but offers relatively little in the way of belts and potential earnings.
Last time out he managed to stop tough Frenchman Carlos Takam and has previously beaten the likes of Sergey Kuzmin, Tony Yoka and Mariusz Wach, losing only once to Michael Hunter back in 2018.
American Anderson is in the earlier stages of his career still learning his trade but has already impressed the likes of Tyson Fury, who has tipped him to be the future heavyweight ruler. The 24-year-old has knocked out 15 of his 17 opponents so far, only going the distance with former IBF champion Charles Martin and then Ryad Merhy last time out.
Speaking to iFL TV, Bakole’s trainer Billy Nelson talked up the fight between the two dangerous fighters.
“It will be the biggest name on [Anderson’s] resume and certainly the hardest fight of his career. He’ll not have faced anyone like Martin Bakole.”
He then shared the prediction given to him by American heavyweight ‘Big Baby’ Miller.
“As Jarrell Miller said to me he said Martin Bakole is bigger, stronger, but most importantly better.”
The fight between Anderson and Bakole takes place on August 3 on the undercard of Terence Crawford’s debut at 154 pounds in Los Angeles.
