Jarrell Miller is looking to talk his way into some big fights.
Miller’s career was overshadowed by controversy back in 2019 when he was due to face Anthony Joshua at Madison Square Garden in New York in a unified heavyweight showdown but was pulled from the card late on after it was revealed he had failed several tests.
In 2020, ‘Big Baby’ attempted to make a comeback with Top Rank but once again failed a drug test just before a scheduled fight in July against Jerry Forrest.
After that he came back once more and secured wins over Ariel Bracamonte, Derek Cardenas and Lucas Browne before being stopped in the dying sends of the 10th and final round against current IBF World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Dubois in December of last year.
His last fight saw him get a majority draw with Andy Ruiz Jr in Los Angeles back in August, though most onlookers feel he did enough to win it. It was a solid performance, and one that will earn him another fight on a lucrative Riyadh Season card.
Speaking to IFL TV, Miller has now called out veteran Brit Derek Chisora.
“Yo Chisora, what up Baby? Chisora, looking good against Joe Joyce. What’s up man? We got December coming up on Tyson Fury’s undercard. Let’s get it on baby. I would love to retire you. It would be my honour and my pleasure to retire your old ass.”
Beloved Londoner Chisora is coming off the back of a great win over Joe Joyce and is now only taking the biggest fights possible in the final days of his long career. Miller might be an option given his profile but Deontay Wilder’s team has also recently named Chisora as a potential comeback opponent following back-to-back defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.
