Johnny Fisher is rising through the heavyweight ranks and sharpening his tools sparring some of the best in the division, not least two-time world champion Tyson Fury.
‘The Romford Bull’ is in the early stage of his journey with 12 bouts behind him and just 31 rounds. He has won 11 of those by stoppage including Alen Babic last time out. That fight ended after just 36 seconds when Fisher unleashed a barrage of punches that the Polish fighter couldn’t deal with.
Fisher hails from Essex and is 25-years-old and has the likes of current IBF champion Daniel Dubois and former WBC ruler Tyson Fury.
Speaking to Take A Seat, Fisher revealed who he thinks is the ‘most technically gifted’ and went with a man Dubois beat last summer.
“He’s beaten Fillip Hrgovic who I was sparring in Texas, who’s probably the most technically gifted fighter I’ve ever been in with.”
He was then asked to breakdown what that exactly meant.
“The punch repertoire, where he throws his shots from, his ability to read his opponent, the footwork, the skill in the mind, knowing how to break people down, he was fantastic. “
Hrgovic lost his undefeated record to now IBF Heavyweight World Champion when the bout was stopped on cuts. He is yet to announce when he may return to the ring, though with just 18 fights and at 32-years-old the Croatian has plenty more to give. As an amateur, he won gold at the 2015 European Amateur Championships and bronze at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Allen has competing at a much lower level for a while but has previously fought and lost against Dillian Whyte, Luis Oritz and David Price. He has stoppage wins over Nick Webb and Lucas Browne.
