Former two-weight world champion Tasha Jonas has given her inside view on Caroline Dubois’s fight with Terri Harper.
Jonas fought and drew with Harper back in August 2020 in what was a close battle for the super featherweight world title, then lost it to Alycia Baumgardner before moving up and winning world titles at lightweight and light middleweight.
She is the current WBO lightweight ruler and takes on WBC champion Dubois for the unified titles in London on 5 April 2026.
Speaking to Sky Sports Boxing, Jonas offered her analysis of the fight, firstly suggesting that Dubois has already got in Harper’s head. Harper retained the belt and has
“I can only pull from an experience I had with Terri Harper when we did a press conference once before. Joe told me to stay outside and I never really quite got why and later on I was brought in and I could see Terri fidgeting.
“Her legs were going and I thought I don’t know what he’s said but he’s got you, you’ve lost it. It’s the same thing, Caroline has really got under her skin, she’s trying to hide it but you can see the signs. And Caroline can see it.”
She then spoke of the new, more outward confidence of Dubois.
“I’m loving the new Caroline. As long as she can back it up in the ring, go and be who you want to be and have the confidence in yourself, I don’t think it’s going to be an easy fight as she’s saying it’s going to be but I do think Caroline will win.”
A win for Dubois could see her go on for a huge fight with Baumgardner.
