The Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight continues to generate buzz within the boxing world.
It is nearly one month since ‘Iron Mike’ stepped back into a professional boxing ring for the first time in nearly two decades when he went up against Youtuber-turned-boxer Paul.
It was an extremely controversial match-up, due to Tyson now being 58-years-old, and taking on a man that was over 30 years younger than him in 27-year-old Paul.
Despite some onlookers believing that the Tyson of old would be present in the bout, it wasn’t to be, with Paul claiming a one-sided unanimous decision victory after eight two-minute rounds.
That hasn’t stopped the conspiracy theories being out in force after the fight, with some fans suggesting that the fight may have been scripted in order to allow Paul to win.
Boxing legend Roy Jones Jr was the last man to face Tyson in an exhibition back in 2020, and he has now given his take on whether or not the fight was rigged whilst talking to Fighthype.
“It’s hard for me to say and hard for me to tell. I do know in actuality I didn’t like how Mike’s legs looked, I don’t think Mike was capable of doing much more than he did that night.
“When he fought me four years ago he was at me for eight rounds, but a lot of things can happen in a four-year span, it can take a severe toll on you. Either he had a leg injury and didn’t want to cancel the fight again, or maybe his legs just weren’t there that night.”
Terence Crawford is another big name that has recently weighed in on the Tyson vs. Paul fight, needing just four words to sum up his feelings.
