Roy Jones Didn’t Hesitate When Asked If Terence Crawford Is Now The Greatest Fighter Of All Time

Roy Jones Jr has shared his thoughts on whether he believes Terence Crawford is now the greatest fighter of all time following his monumental victory over Canelo Alvarez.

‘Bud’ Crawford defeated the Mexican superstar via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their historic showdown at a sold-out Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, capturing the undisputed super-middleweight championship in the process.

The judges scorecards read 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113 all in favour of the unbeaten American superstar, who had put on arguably the best performance of his glittering professional career to date.

Crawford’s victory has sparked a debate on whether the Omaha-native should now be regarded as the greatest fighter to have ever laced up the gloves after he became the first male fighter in the history of the sport to become an undisputed champion in three weight classes.

Speaking to iFL TV just moments after ‘Bud’ was declared as the winner, Hall of Famer Jones Jr was asked if he believes his fellow countryman should now be regarded as the ‘G.O.A.T’.

“[Muhammad] Ali is the greatest of all time.”

Jones was then asked where he would rank Crawford in his list of ‘all time greats’.

“I don’t know but he’s not the greatest, Ali’s the greatest of all time.”

Ali remains arguably the greatest and most influential fighter to have ever graced the sport, proving his outstanding credentials throughout the course of his storied professional career.

A three-time world heavyweight champion, Ali shared the ring with a number of legendary heavyweights during his tenure, including George Foreman, Larry Holmes and Joe Frazier.

As for Crawford, Jones has also advised the new undisputed super-middleweight champion exactly what he should do next following his win over Canelo.
