Anthony Joshua has been accused of looking for easy fights for his long-overdue return to the ring, including Jake Paul.
AJ hasn’t fought in more than a year since he failed in his bid for the IBF world title against Daniel Dubois. He was knocked down early and was then stopped inside five rounds and has since been taking time out to recover from minor elbow surgery.
He is now due to return to the ring in early 2026 and have one last tilt at the top, and one of his long-term rivals has shared his thoughts on the Brit.
Speaking to Seconds Out, Joshua’s old foe Jarell Miller was asked if he had pursued a fight with AJ at a time when he is looking for his next opponent.
“I think Joshua is more interested in YouTubers and MMA guys at this point. He doesn’t want to fight anybody with a heartbeat, from what I’m seeing and hearing. Guys want you to kiss their arse to get a fight, and I’m not that person.”
‘Big Baby’ and AJ’’s rivalry first sparked in 2019 when Miller was set to challenge Joshua for his unified heavyweight titles at Madison Square Garden. The fight promised fireworks and Miller’s trash talk in the build-up was relentless as he taunted Joshua at press events and even shoved him during their face-off.
But weeks before the bout, Miller failed multiple drug tests and was pulled from the fight. Andy Ruiz Jr. stepped in and famously shocked the world by stopping Joshua. Miller’s reputation collapsed, while AJ rebuilt, and he is looking to again now.
