Anthony Joshua has been sharing plenty of tips with a newly professional young heavyweight.
Joshua is now a veteran of the game at 35-years-old. He was a later starter having only entered the gym aged 18, but quickly picked up a gold medal in the London Olympics then was somewhat fast-tracked as a professional and became world champion inside 16 fights.
He then unified not long after while taking on the biggest names in the division from Wladimir Klitschko to Jospeh Parker, Andy Ruiz Jr and Oleskandr Usyk.
In a video caught by Matchroom Boxing, Joshua ran into Leo Atang, a young heavyweight who makes his debut this Saturday, and had plenty of advice for him.
“Of course, you, I know you, man. You’re going to be better than me. 18 years old? That’s when I started boxing. You know what, it goes quick. Time never stops. What I mean by that is fu**ing put the work in. Watch it, study it, train, eat, breathe it, shadow box, think it. Have fun with it. But nothing beats winning in this game. Win at all costs. Go in there, train hard. Have that killer instinct. Knock these guys out. You get in there and knock people out, and people will love you. Let them know that no matter what you throw, I’m going to beat you.”
Atang is just 18 years old and recently signed up with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom. He’s previously won gold at World Boxing’s Youth World championships and has a high knockout ratio.
