Jake Paul‘s return to boxing to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is just a few days away.

Youtuber-turned-boxer Paul will take on arguably his toughest test to date against the former WBC middleweight champion at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California live on Saturday.

Paul was last in action in November when he took part in a controversial bout with boxing legend Mike Tyson, winning the fight by unanimous decision after eight rounds.

He now turns his attention to Chavez Jr, with the Mexican looking to return to the heights which saw him hold world honours at 160lbs from 2011 to 2012.

While Chavez Jr hasn’t reached the icon status of other Mexican boxers, one of them who definitely has is Juan Manuel Marquez, and the multi-weight world champion has offered his thoughts on this weekend’s battle.

Speaking to Pro Box TV, Marquez said that he is hoping that Chavez Jr can knock out and ‘annihilate’ Paul.

“I wish them both success and that they come out in good health. I would like to see Julio Cesar Chavez Jr raise his hand in victory. He has to be very effective. He has to be very good to show that boxing deserves respect, that boxing deserves all the loyalty of a fighter.

I’d like to see Junior annihilating [Paul] like Anthony Joshua did with [Francis Ngannou]. The knockout route and we never saw him again. I would like to see that, but that both come out in good health … Julio Cesar Chavez Jr by knockout so that Paul can say the sport of boxing deserves respect.”

Marquez isn’t the only big name to weigh in on the bout, as with just a few days remaining until fight night, Oscar De La Hoya has changed his prediction for the clash.
