Kell Brook‘s shock return to boxing has been dealt a major blow after a rescheduled date was announced.
Brook had announced his retirement from boxing back in May of 2022, just weeks after he stopped domestic rival Amir Khan in the sixth round of their grudge match at the AO Arena in Manchester.
It brought to an end a great career for the Sheffield man, which saw him claim world honours with a win over Shawn Porter, whilst also sharing the ring with the likes of Terence Crawford, Gennady Golovkin and Shawn Porter.
The former IBF world welterweight champion was set to face Dubai’s Eisa Al Dah in a middleweight clash on February 13, an exhibition bout that had been made to honour British boxing icon Ricky Hatton.
Former super lightweight champion Hatton was originally scheduled to face Al Dah in December but the bout was cancelled after ‘The Hitman’ tragically passed away at just 46-years-old.
It has now been revealed that the ten-round middleweight bout will take place on Saturday April 11 at The Agenda in Dubai’s Media City, giving both fighters extra time to prepare.
The event itself is set to honour the outstanding legacy of Ricky Hatton and will raise funds for the newly-formed Ricky Hatton Foundation, which was established shortly after Hatton’s death in September 2025.
Brook is said to be in a great position ahead of his return to the sport as revealed by long-term coach Dominic Ingle, who coached ‘The Special One’ for the majority of his professional career.
