Kell Brook was ringside for Chris Eubank Jr.‘s victory over Conor Benn this past weekend.

The two generational rivals finally came together in the ring some two and a half years after they were first supposed to. What ensued was a 12 round war with neither man backing down and both throwing everything they had until the last bell.

It was Eubank who finished the stronger and took the win on the cards, with all three ringside judges giving him it 116-112.

Speaking to Boxing King Media, former world champion Brook revealed he was impressed by both men.

“What a fight, lived up to the hype. Yeah, it were a great fight, what can I say? Eubank did enough to win but very competitive all the way through. On the edge of your seat. It were very good.

“Eubank is no Golovkin, you could see the way he started to look tired but Conor had that energy moving up the weight. Equally matched. It lived up to to the hype, they didn’t let the fans down.”

He was then asked how he scored it.

“It were neck and neck then I had the last couple of rounds where [Eubank] took it. I think Conor will have learnt loads from that fight. He’s a smaller fighter, I’d like him to use his jab more, more twitches. But he didn’t do much wrong to be fair. He fought to the best of his ability.”

The Sheffield man then revealed the fight got him so excited it’s made him think about a return after retiring in May of 2022.

“It has whetted my appetite, it’s in my blood, none of them two would live with me. I’d still school both of them.”

Talks of a rematch between the two have already begun, with September the initial date suggested though Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn saying that they could instead opt to pursue big fights in his natural division.
