Former WBO world lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis has predicted the outcome of the shock rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

It was announced last week that Mayweather and Pacquiao would face each other for the second time later this year, over ten years on from their monumental first encounter which took place in May of 2015.

‘Money’ Mayweather defeated Pacquiao via unanimous decision at the conclusion of an underwhelming 12-rounds at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to unify the WBC, WBA and WBO world welterweight titles.

The controversial rematch between the legendary duo has been confirmed for Saturday September 19 at The Sphere in Las Vegas, making it the first boxing event to be hosted at the spectacular venue.

Speaking to Fight Hype recently, unbeaten lightweight star Keyshawn Davis shared his thoughts on the rematch between Mayweather and Pacquiao as he claims he believes things are going to be ‘different’ this time around.

“It’s a legendary fight. I feel like it’s going to be a different fight now that they’re at two different ages. They both retired for a long time and I think it’s going to be a different fight.”

Davis was then asked who he is favouring when the former pound-for-pound stars clash in September.

“Floyd, for sure. Because he already won the first time. You only as good as your last performance, you know what I’m saying? Last performance Floyd won.”

Pacquiao made a shock return to boxing last July when he fought to a majority draw against former WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios, although many believe the Filipino great had done enough to be declared the winner.

As for Mayweather, the 49-year-old from Michigan has not fought as a professional since he defeated former UFC superstar Conor McGregor back in August 2017, but the five-division world champion has participated in a number of exhibition contests since then.
