Newly-crowned WBO lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis has shared his thoughts on the upcoming rematch between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev.
The light heavyweight duo are set to lock horns once again in Riyadh on Saturday. Beterbiev got the better of Bivol in their first meeting last October, defeating his countryman via majority decision to become the first undisputed light heavyweight king of the ‘four belt era’.
After the intense controversy that surrounded their initial bout, rumours of a rematch began spreading almost immediately as Bivol set his sights on getting revenge over the man who handed him the first defeat of his professional career.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Davis revealed what he believes happens in the highly anticipated rematch between the Russian stars, as he leans towards Bivol to get the job done at the second time of asking.
“I thought Bivol won the first one, you know what I’m saying. I think Beterbiev gonna do the same thing that he did last fight, I think he’s a pressure fighter.
“He’s smart though so he’ll probably do something differently but you know when you’re a boxer you can literally switch it up like I’m gonna box you like this, this time.
“I just feel like Bivol is gonna switch his game plan up a little bit and he’s just gonna make it more clear that he won the second time.”
The intriguing light heavyweight showdown sits at the top of one of the greatest fight cards in boxing history. The co-main event sees Joseph Parker face Martin Bakole, after the Congo heavyweight replaced Daniel Dubois on short notice after Dubois suffered an illness.
