Amir Khan has been retired since 2022 but has always remained open to a comeback against the right opponent.
It is often Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather that Khan most openly speaks of wanting to fight, and it was much the same throughout the final years of his career. He never got the call, however, and instead fought and beat the likes of Chris Algieri, Devon Alexander and Luis Collazo.
He has had some huge nights under the lights out in the United States against all-time greats Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez, both of whom beat him by knockout.
Last time out he took on long-time British rival Kell Brook. The former WBA light-welterweight world champion was stopped inside six rounds by Brook and looked well past his best after a long, hard career.
He decided to walk away with a record of 34 wins from 40 fights and is still one of the youngest ever world champions from Britain, as well as being an Olympic silver medallist.
It seems he could be tempted to return though, as speaking to iFL TV, Khan admitted he might well be up for coming out of retirement for a fight with Misfits Boxing founder KSI.
“Look, we can maybe make it happen. You know what I mean, we never know. Let’s have a chat on Monday.”
KSI is a YouTuber and rapper turned boxer who has fought and beaten the likes of Logan Paul and fellow rappers like Swarmz, but last time out in October 2023 he lost a unanimous points decision to Tommy Fury and later lodged an appeal that was unsuccessful.
It remains to be seen whether a clash between KSI and Khan will indeed happen, but rightly or wrongly, it would likely be a huge spectacle.
