Amir Khan Reacts To Terence Crawford’s Sudden Retirement

Amir Khan has finally spoken out after former rival Terence Crawford announced his retirement from boxing.

Crawford called time on his outstanding professional career on Monday evening, just several months on from his historic victory over Canelo Alvarez.

The 38-year-old from Omaha defeated Canelo via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their showdown on September 13 to become the undisputed super-middleweight championship.

‘Bud’ Crawford produced a number of legacy-defining victories throughout the course of his tenure, with one of these coming against two-time light-welterweight champion Amir Khan back in April 2019.

Speaking to The Ring Magazine, Khan spoke fondly of his former foe as he brandishes the three-weight undisputed champion as ‘one of the greatest ever’.

“Terence is such a legend in the sport of boxing and is always going to be remembered as one of the greats. I saw him two days ago in Dubai at the boxing event, at the IBA event, and never mentioned one little thing, and I was asking him who he’s going to fight next because I want to be there.

“I’m a friend and I love boxing, I love seeing good boxing and obviously been training alongside him for a long time and him taking the time out to come all the way to the mountains to train with me, that’s something that’s always going to stay with me.”

‘Bud’ drew the curtain on his career with an unblemished record, becoming one of the few great champions in boxing history to go without suffering a single defeat along the way.
