Amir Khan has sent a warning out to one particular fighter who continues to call out Anthony Joshua.
Joshua was last in action in September when he suffered a knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois, denying him the chance to become a three-time heavyweight champion and leaving him pondering his next move.
It was believed that a long-awaited showdown with Tyson Fury could come next, but any hope of seeing that has been ruled out for now due to Fury abruptly announcing his retirement in January.
Boxing fans are now wondering who ‘AJ’ will potentially fight next, with a shock option presenting itself to the former unified heavyweight champion over the past week.
That is due to Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul making the surprise move to call out Joshua, claiming that the Brit doesn’t have a chin and doesn’t have any skills. ‘AJ’ responded positively, saying the fight could take place in 2026. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, also said they would take the match-up.
Another man that was linked to a fight with Paul at one stage was former unified super-lightweight champion Khan, who retired from the sport back in 2022 following his defeat to domestic rival Kell Brook.
Khan has now spoken out about Paul wanting a fight with Joshua, telling Carl Froch on his Froch On Fighting YouTube Channel that it would be a major mistake by ‘The Problem Child.’
“What a mismatch that is. Joshua will kill him. Jake Paul will never look at boxing and will never want to fight again. It would be the end of even his YouTube career in my opinion, after a shot like that with that one two, the end of his life as well, 100%.”
While it may happen down the line, the former heavyweight champion has unfinished business in the division and is expected to return in late summer on the traditional side of the sport.
