Amir Khan has made his intentions perfectly known ahead of a potential return to the ring.
Khan hasn’t fought for nearly four years, after suffering a sixth round stoppage defeat to long-term rival Kell Brook in Manchester back in February 2022.
That ended a career that saw the Bolton boxer become unified super-lightweight world champion, defeating fighters such as Marcos Maidana, Zab Judah, Marco Antonio Barrera and Paulie Malignaggi along the way.
He was also involved in memorable fights against the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford, Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson, but there is one man who he never got to share the ring with that Khan is still keen to take on even now.
Posting on social media, Khan revealed that he still craves a showdown with former stablemate Manny Pacquiao, and has urged the Filipino great to face him rather than proceed with a rumoured rematch against Floyd Mayweather.
“LETS GO @MannyPacquiao I’m up for one final dance but only with you as my partner. You’re still talking rematch with Floyd? Let’s make OUR fight that never happened. This is the ONLY one that gets me out of retirement – it’s what the fans always wanted.”
Pacquiao made a sensational return to the sport at the age of 46 in July when he fought to a majority decision draw against WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios.
He is set to return to action at the start of 2026, and despite Khan’s wishes, it seems that a rematch between Pacquiao and Mayweather is the current frontrunner for the Filipino’s next bout.
