Amir Khan is a decorated former champion who hasn’t fought since 2022.

That final fight was a grudge match with his long-time British rival Kell Brook. It took place in Manchester and ended in a stoppage loss for Khan.

In the years before, the Bolton man and former Olympic Silver medalist had a fine career that took him to world honours. During his pro career, he scored statement wins over the likes of hard-hitting Marcos Maidana, Zab Judah and Paulie Malignaggi.

Khan was involved in plenty of epic fights in the United States, including with the likes of Terence Crawford and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez but he suffered some brutal knockouts along the way. He knew exactly when to hang up the gloves, but often teases a comeback of sorts.

Speaking to talkSPORT Boxing, he revealed the one man he would come out of retirement to face is Manny Pacquiao.

“You know the only person I would come back for on a serious note would be Manny Pacquiao. I’ve been asked by YouTubers, KSI, Logan Paul, Jake Paul, but what motivates me is fighting a proper fighter like Manny Pacquiao. A Manny Pacquiao fight would make me train even harder than a Kell Brook fight, because I know how hard I would have to train, he’s an animal you need that push.”

Khan chased a fight with Pacquiao or fellow great Floyd Mayweather for much of the latter stage of his career but nothing ever materialised.

Pacquiao often teases a return to the ring but fell short in his bid to compete in the Paris Olympics last year as he was deemed too old, and has since said he would only come back to the professional ranks for a fight with a world champion.
