Lamont Roach has shared his latest thoughts on the upcoming Gervonta Davis vs. Jake Paul fight.

Davis will take on Paul in an exhibition bout at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida on Friday 14 November, in a fight that has received criticism from within the boxing world.

One of the reasons for that criticism is due to ‘Tank’ choosing to face Paul rather than go ahead with his rematch against Roach, which many fans expected to come next following their controversial majority decision draw back in March.

With that in mind, Roach has now hit out once again at Davis for opting to face Paul instead, telling Fight Hype that he views their clash as a ‘circus show.’

“He pulled out of the fight that we were contracted to do, he went to the circus show fight, he said he’s going to retire and I believe him. It’s for sh*ts and giggles. Paul is 200lbs and [Davis] is whatever he is.”

Roach was then asked if he believes that Davis has ducked him by deciding to take on Paul instead.

“For sure [it’s a duck]. Call a spade a spade. We’re contracted to fight and you go and take another fight and breach that contract, that’s a clear duck obviously.”

With ‘Tank’ facing Paul, Roach has instead turned his attention to a 140lb clash with Isaac Cruz, with the pair set to square off for the WBC interim super-lightweight title at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday 6 December.
