Larry Holmes Would ‘Bet All His Money’ On One Man After Watching Mike Tyson Train For Jake Paul

Former heavyweight legend Larry Holmes has weighed in with his verdict ahead of Mike Tyson’s boxing return against Jake Paul.

Holmes and Tyson of course have their own history, with ‘Iron Mike’ knocking out ‘The Easton Assassin’ in the fourth round of their world title fight back in 1988 to retain his WBA, WBC, and IBF belts.

That night Tyson had the youth advantage but against Paul he’ll be stepping into the ring with someone over thirty years his junior.

However, when speaking to OLGB ahead of the contest, having seen the 58-year-old train, Holmes is confident his former foe will show that power and experience trumps youth and confidence.

“I watched a clip of Mike Tyson this morning and all I can say is Jake better be ready if he’s going to fight Mike. Mike will be able to last the two minute rounds. Mike comes to fight when he puts his mind to it, he goes to work on you. And that’s what I’ve seen today. And if this guy tries to trade punches with Mike, he loses.

If Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul was a Las Vegas table game I’d be betting all my money on Iron Mike

Mike Tyson doesn’t care about anything. He’ll fight you right now, even though he’s not in any shape. And he’s going to hit you, and when he does that, it’s all over. Mike is ready for it. He won’t be taking any punches in training. If I’m betting my money, it’s on Mike.”

Paul vs Tyson takes place on November 15 at the AT&T stadium in Texas and will be streamed live on Netflix.
