Lennox Lewis Makes Big Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois Prediction: “He’ll Knock Him Out”

Lennox Lewis believes that someone is getting knocked out when Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois meet his weekend.

It is a relatively safe bet given that both men have proven themselves to be big punchers.

Joshua has had a total of 29 fights, 26 of which he won and 23 by way of stoppage earning him an 88.5% knockout ratio, with two points losses and just one technical stoppage at the hands of Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019.

For Dubois meanwhile, 18 of his 19 wins have come by knockout and he has lost just twice, both time by stoppage after taking a knee and failing to get up, which is why some have questioned his heart.

However, in his last two fights against top-level contenders in Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic, he weathered plenty of early pressure, took some heavy fire but still came through to get the win.

Now the pair must do battle in front of a record 96,000 crowd at Wembley Stadium in London. The fight sees Dubois make his first defence of his IBF world title and a chance for AJ to become a three-time world champion.

Ahead of that, Lewis has given his prediction to Ring TV and thinks the time could be right for Dubois to shine.

“Dubois has been the guy that nobody has been looking at for a while and he wants his glory. I think he looks at Anthony as the golden boy in the sense everyone is awing over him, he’s got the fans, the big promoter and he’s got the spotlight because that’s the way it was but now it’s his time. He’s been sitting back on the burner and he has an opportunity, now let’s see if he can do it.”

He then admitted that ‘AJ’ has the better experience overall even though Dubois has done well in his last two outings.

“The fact he’s been in against Oleksandr Usyk twice, he’s boxed over in America, big stadium events and has high profile trainers. I think it can go either way because both of them have a good shot. Anthony has the advantage. Daniel has been there in the background, he wants it, he’s been dreaming about it all his life. If he goes for it, it will pan itself out. As far as experience [Dubois] has gotten a lot of experience in his last few fights.”

Finally, he made an outright prediction – a Joshua KO.

“Joshua by stoppage. I don’t think it’s going to be an early fight, I think it’s probably gonna be later rounds. Daniel’s not gonna come and lay down.”

Whoever wins could well go into an undisputed fight with the winner of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s rematch in December.
