Former heavyweight ruler Lennox Lewis has cast his eye over the intriguing match-up between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker this weekend.

This contest sees two of the most in-form men in boxing face off out in Saudi Arabia on February 22. The IBF belt currently in possession of Dubois will be on the line as he looks to defend it for the second time in a row.

He was elevated to full champion status after his impressive knockout defeat of the well-rated Filip Hrgovic last June.

That came a few months after an impressive win over American Jarrell Miller in which the Brit took plenty of sustained pressure early on but rallied and turned the tide late on to get the stoppage with just seconds of the 10th and final round remaining.

Last time out in September, he stopped Anthony Joshua inside five to prevent ‘AJ’ becoming a three-time world champion and cement himself as one of the division’s best.

Former WBO champion Parker is also in a fine run of form right now having beaten Deontay Wilder and then Zhilei Zhang, both on points over 12 rounds, in his last two outings.

Speaking at the first press conference, Lewis believes it’s a 50/50 matchup.

“I think the whole card is great. There are a lot of 50-50 fights here. It’s a great fight for the fans. May the best man win. I mean they both got talent and it’s really down to the mental and physical side so whoever has the best [on the night].”

Whoever comes out on top of this much-anticipated bout could well walk into an undisputed fight with three-belt champion Oleksandr Usyk sometime later in 2205.
