Lennox Lewis knows what it takes to win rematches and has now shared advice on how Daniel Dubois could beat Oleksandr Usyk.
Lewis had just two losses in his career, both were upsets to Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall. He overturned both in rematches, which is what Dubois will be hoping to do when he squares off with Usyk this weekend, two years after they first fought.
This time, all four world titles are on the line and Dubois will be hoping to have Usyk on the canvas as he did back in August 2023, but this time via a legitimate shot rather than a low blow.
Ahead of the fight at Wembley, Lewis was asked the best way to beat Usyk and believes uppercuts are the key to victory.
“People say ‘oh, if you fought Usyk, what would you do?’ I would throw a good uppercut because he’s susceptible to uppercuts and I throw a mean upper cut and that’s how I would fight the fight.”
He was then asked if Usyk was vulnerable to the body given what happened in the pair’s first fight.
“Anybody who is vulnerable to the body, and everybody is saying it, usually goes back and works on the body and says make them think I’m vulnerable to the body, that’s what I want them to think and now my body is tough and if they go to the body I’m going to hit them at the same time.”
