Lennox Lewis Needed Just 4 Words To Respond To Evander Holyfield’s Call For A Trilogy Fight

Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield are two legends of the sport.

They are both high in the conversation as some of the best heavyweights to ever compete in boxing, having each had a number of accolades throughout their respective careers.

After they each spent years holding versions of the world heavyweight titles, they finally met in March 1999 in a massive spectacle at Madison Square Garden in New York.

It was an extremely controversial outcome, with the fight ending in a split decision draw, though most onlookers felt that Lewis had done enough to get the victory.

Their rematch took place in Las Vegas eight months later, and this time Lewis was able to right the potential wrongs of the first fight, winning by unanimous decision to become undisputed heavyweight champion.

While it may have been 25 years since they last met, Holyfield has recently called out his former rival for a trilogy bout, seemingly taking inspiration from fellow legend Mike Tyson returning to the ring in November to face Jake Paul.

Lewis has now been responded to the call out whilst talking to Mail Sport Boxing, after he was asked whether he may get back in the ring with Holyfield. He said, “I don’t think so.”

That’s nice of him that he wants to get back in the ring with me. I’m not really pushing to get back in the ring with him.”

While Lewis may not plan on taking on Holyfield, he did reveal whether he ever expects to return to boxing for anybody else.
